NOTICE is hereby given that on April 30, 2014 at 5:30 PM CDT in the Emergency Operations Room, downstairs in City Hall, 100 E Michigan Blvd, Michigan City, IN 46360 the City of Michigan City acting by and through the Michigan City Parks and Recreation Department (“MCPRD”) will conduct a public hearing to consider public comment and the approval of: (a) The Sheridan Beach and The Esplanade Public Access, Land Management, and Implementation Plan; (b) the License and Agreement for a Restoration Project and Beach Access Pathway on Sheridan Beach or The Esplanade; and (c) terminating certain Sheridan Beach and the Esplanade encroachment leases that were previously approved by MCPRD pursuant to Resolution No. 425, adopted May 9, 1996 and Indiana Code, I.C. 36-1-11. Interested property owners and the public are notified that MCPRD will consider the termination of the encroachment leases only in the event that the encroachment tenants enter into license to encroach agreements with MCPRD. SEEKING PUBLIC INPUT FOR UPGRADES TO PULLMAN PARK
The Michigan City Park Department is seeking public input for improvements to Pullman Park. The Department has been awarded a Community Development Block Grant and would like the community to comment on how they would like to see the funds spent. Please fill out the survey and return it to the Park Office no later than Wednesday, April 30, 2014 by 4 p.m.
CITY KIDS DAY CAMP REGISTRATION
Children ages 6 through 11 can celebrate summer in beautiful Michigan City at the CITY KIDS DAY CAMP. Becky McCray will direct the camp this year and administer an exciting schedule that promises unique summertime adventures for your child. A vision to help the youth of Michigan City grow is the goal. Values, friendships, learning, and teamwork will guarantee tons of great summertime memories.
COST: $35 per week for City Kids Day Camp and $25 per week for those enrolled in MCAS Summer School
The program is limited to 65 camp participants on a first-come, first-serve basis. Pre-registration is required, which will take place at the Park Office beginning March 17, 2014, Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4 pm, excluding holidays. Age verification with a birth or baptismal certificate is required to pre-register.
City Kids Day Camp opens the week of June 16th and ends on August 8th. The day camp schedule is Monday through Friday from 8 am to 3 pm (off on July 4th). Please be sure to schedule camp arrangements in advance. Camp Leaders will leave with the campers for all scheduled field trips and special events. Be sure to follow the camp agenda which will be provided at camp.

Easter Egg Hunt
2014 Washington Park Annual Parking Sticker Distribution
The Michigan City Park Department will begin issuing the annual Washington Park parking stickers on Tuesday, April 1, 2014.
Stickers will be distributed in the Clerk's Office in City Hall, 100 E. Michigan Boulevard, Michigan City, IN 46360.
Hours: Monday through Friday, 9 am to 4 pm (excluding holidays)
We will also distribute stickers on Saturdays at the Michigan City Port Authority in Washington Park beginning May 10th and ending July 26th, 2014. Saturday hours are 9 am to noon.
Please bring a current vehicle registration; a certificate of registration will not be accepted, it must be a valid original registration card.
If you own property in the civil city but reside outside of the civil city limits, bring a utility bill or tax bill (the name on the bill must match the name on your vehicle registration) for the city property along with your current vehicle registration and the fee will be waived.
