The annual Sand Castle Contest takes places at noon July 13th, on the Washington Park beach. Registration for the Sand Castle Contest is free, and sand castles will be built on the beach between the parking lot wall and the lifeguard stand. Sand castle building equipment will be available for purchase.
Castle builders will compete in four categories:
- Children 12 and under for one or two builders only
- Teens age 13-17 with one or more builders
- Families with any number of members any age
- 18 and over individuals and groups
Judging is at 2 p.m. Trophies will be awarded for first place, and ribbons for second and third.
Fireworks follow the same day at dusk.
